The Trump administration announced a new round of tariffs. It will impose a 10% tariff on US$200 billion worth of Chinese imports from next Monday, September 24, and increase the tax rate to 25% from January 1, 2019. The new list contains 5,745 commodities, and the previously announced (July 10) list involves 6,031 commodity categories.

The "fish fillets" and "block frozen" products of cod and pollock are not in the new list, and the other seafood "frozen rhino cod" has also been deleted.
The U.S. Trade Representative issued a statement stating, "After rigorously reviewing social commentary and testimony from various units, it has decided to remove 297 product tariff lines, including consumer electronic products such as smart watches, Bluetooth devices, certain manufactured products, textiles and agricultural products. Chemical materials, specific health and safety products, such as bicycle helmets, child safety equipment, such as car seats and baby fences." But the statement did not mention the word "seafood".
